University-Industry Collaboration Centers Platform of Türkiye

USIMP was founded in 2007 with 5 members to raise awareness about university–industry collaboration (UIC) activities in Türkiye and to bring together institutions and organizations working in this field to create synergy and unity of strength. USIMP has become a national Network with 140+ institutional members in 2024, each experts with different competencies in their own field.

Through its various services and activities, USIMP contributes to the maturation of the national R&D and Innovation ecosystem through discussions of current knowledge, experiences, and international best practice examples, and fostering a culture of co-learning and co-creation.

With its strong sense of social responsibility and unique structure,  USIMP also strives to support policy-level efforts related to university–industry collaboration in Türkiye.

USIMP’s significant contributions to the process of establishing Technology Transfer Offices in the country is a concrete example.

The main aim of USIMP is to foster a knowledge based economy through university-industry collaboration, knowledge and technology exchange. Its strength lies in its members, spread country-wide and who are expert in their fields and dedicated to this mission. Most activities are carried out through the financial and in-kind contributions of USIMP members, with the spirit of collective and voluntary work.

USIMP has diversified and expanded its services in line with changing needs and has made significant contributions as an NGO to the development of a national Technology Transfer Office Model adaptable and applicable to local needs specific to Turkey, exploiting its international collaborations.
