Starting from 2012, USIMP has organized Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Professional Training programs aimed at addressing the need for qualified personnel in TTOs, in collaboration with various institutions and organizations, particularly AUTM.
Since 2018, RTTP certification training has been conducted 25 times, with approximately 800 participants trained.
To obtain RTTP certification, candidates must earn 60 CE points and complete a case study submission. Certification is awarded following evaluation by the ATTP Recognition Committee. Through its “RTTP Mentorship” program, USIMP pairs candidates with certified RTTP professionals to support them in preparing their case studies. This RTTP application mentoring system was published by ATTP in 2022 as a Best Practice.
There are currently around 1,000 RTTP-certified professionals worldwide, of which 60 are in Türkiye, ranking the country 8th globally in terms of RTTP holders.
USIMP has six training courses, officially recognised by ATTP Course Recognition Committee, yielding CE points towards “Registered Technology Transfer Professional – RTTP” designation. These can be delivered in English or in Turkish, on-line or on-site depending on the specific requirements.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to identify, describe, interpret, practice the skills required for developing technology and innovation focused collaborations particularly with industrial stakeholders.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to identify, describe, interpret, practice the skills required for exploitation of research results through knowledge exchange methodologies.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to practice and develop the skills required for encouraging and fostering IP based entrepreneurship in their particular ecosystems, though a customer-oriented approach.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to practice and develop the skills required for for valuation of academic research results and identify, describe, interpret academic and industry perspectives and practices related to licensing and license agreements.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to develop and practice the skills required for establishing collaborations for new research to develop new applications and markets for the outputs of academic research projects and for licensing and manage these collaborations for sustainable mutual benefit
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to develop an awareness for the specific challenges of software-based Knowledge/Technology Transfer and increase their knowledge and practice the skills required for marketing and commercializing software-based know-how.
In parallel with the establishment of TTOs, various Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)-related training programs and other knowledge and technology transfer trainings are also carried out in collaboration with international partners of USIMP members, in order to meet the need for qualified and experienced personnel in the field of intellectual property.
