Professional Competency Studies

Studies are started in 2014 to define the profession of "TTO Specialist" and to carry out the profession recognition processes before the Vocational Qualifications Authority. On June 9, 2018, definition of Technology Transfer Specialist is officially accepted by the Vocational Qualifications Authority and is published in the Official Gazette. The studies started in 2014 on defining the profession of TTO Professionals and conducting the profession recognition processes before the Vocational Qualifications Authority is listed below in chronological order.   

  • July 10, 2015 - meeting with Vocational Qualifications Authority Executive Committee, a meeting is held with participation of Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL to make an assessment on the definition of TTO Professionals profession and to discuss profession recognition
  • May 9, 2016 – A meeting is held with our USIMP Commission members before the meeting held with the Vocational Qualifications Authority and afterwards, the Vocational Qualifications Authority is visited and our application is submitted.
  • July 14, 2016 - The profession Standard Preparation Protocol is signed for Vocational Qualifications Authority Technology Transfer Expertise.
  • October 19, 2016 - Vocational Qualifications Authority Visit, Information is received from the VQA authorities as a Commission on preparation of the certificate of competency of Technology Transfer Specialists Profession, Technology Transfer Specialists Profession
  • February 15, 2017- “VQA Technology Transfer Professional Survey” is prepared for TTO employees and managers to determine definition of profession and necessary knowledge and skills and 46 responses are received.
  • March 2017 - Profession Definition Report Formation Training is received as a Commission from the VQA authorities.
  • May 5, 2017 – VQA Profession Definition Report Draft document is completed.
  • May 24, 2017 – “VQA Profession Definition Workshop” where characteristics of Technology Transfer expertise are determined is performed with the stakeholders in presence of a moderator assigned by the
  • May 30, 2017 - VQA Profession Definition Report is presented.
  • December 12, 2017 - Technology Transfer Specialist Profession Definition Revision Meeting is held at the end of the process of obtaining the opinions of the stakeholder by the VQA.
  • March 15, 2018- Presentation of National Profession Standard Draft is made to the VQA Business and Management Sector
  • June 9, 2018 – Official Definition of the Technology Transfer Professional is approved by the VQA and published (OFFICIAL GAZETTE DATE-NUMBER/ 09.06.2018- 30446-Repeating).
  • August 09, 2019 – USIMP- VQA National Compliance Preparation Cooperation Protocol is signed.
  • September 13, 2019 – Participation to the meetings of USIMP VQA competence team and RTTP trainers group is provided.
  • November 9, 2019 - VQA National Competence Preparation Progress Report (Term 1) is submitted.
  • May 5, 2020- VQA National Competence Preparation Progress Report (Term 2) is submitted.
  • August 7, 2020- VQA National Competence Preparation Progress Report (Term 3) is submitted.
  • October 1, 2020- VQA National Competence Preparation Progress Report (Term 4) is submitted.
  • October 21, 2020 – A webinar on Technology Transfer Profession Definition and Competency Conditions is organized.
  • November 3, 2020- VQA National Competence Preparation search meeting is held.

 

USIMP is still continuing its studies as a TTO Specialist Certification organization.
